Renovation Progress

A long overdue update on our renovation progress. My oldest, Ryan, graduated last Wednesday at DAR Constitution Hall and it really was one of the best days ever. Miss Me?

Or did you even realize I've been gone? Either way, just thought I'd pop in and give a brief update. If you're a mom with kids home for the summer or if you've ever been a kid home for the summer, I don't even need to explain where my time has gone. Last week was actually our family beach vacation, and of course, that flew by. The rest of the time has been spent either with the kids or shuttling them to and from camps or swim team meets/practices. She was a little pricey, but she was a belated birthday gift to myself so she was worth the splurge. And while I know it's not polite to say ladies are large, she is quite tall (topping out at 20 inches), but in superb condition (she's got all her fingers and toes, and her lotus flowers are all intact). </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">While I can't promise I'll be a much better blogger over the coming weeks, I will do my best to check in from time to time. I even have some exciting home improvement photos I might be able to share soon. My dear husband is turning the big 4-0 next month (just to be clear I just turned a much younger 39), and I'm trying to spruce up the joint for the party. It had been BM Ancient Ivory but as my daughter clearly pointed out - there was too much contrast w/the furnishings. Here are some beginning shots. Through the door below you can see the X railing that now surrounds the new staircase down to our basement where the renovation is ongoing.
