Our beautiful girl . . .
Our handsome, excuse me, cute (he hates the word handsome) boy . . .
And lastly, yes, this photo was a bit staged (they don't typically hold hands while strolling the beach), but their happy faces are real (they really DO like/love each other despite their protestations to the contrary) . . .
In other, more design-related news, I did happen to hit a random Tuesday estate sale yesterday after I dropped off the kids at basketball camp, and found this lovely blanc de chine goddess . . .
I've been wanting one of these for a while, and this vintage version from Japanese china manufacturer Seyei fit the bill nicely. She was a little pricey, but she was a belated birthday gift to myself so she was worth the splurge. And while I know it's not polite to say ladies are large, she is quite tall (topping out at 20 inches), but in superb condition (she's got all her fingers and toes, and her lotus flowers are all intact).
While I can't promise I'll be a much better blogger over the coming weeks, I will do my best to check in from time to time. I even have some exciting home improvement photos I might be able to share soon. My dear husband is turning the big 4-0 next month (just to be clear I just turned a much younger 39), and I'm trying to spruce up the joint for the party. Of course, I'm waiting till the last minute, but isn't that what the last minute is for? Anyway, I promise to share progress as it's made. Stay tuned . . .
Oh, and happy summer, everyone!
