Remember the stunning entry I posted about last week? Well, it tuns out is wasn't a front entry but rather a side entry of an incredibly beautiful home. The designer is Deborah Silver of Detroit, a landscape designer who also owns the fabulous Detroit Garden Works. I happen to be a huge fan of her work and was very excited when she sent additional pictures of the home. Above is an in-progress pic of the transformation. Steve from Urban Cottage had previously commented on how the urn balances out the off-center entry and the comparison of these two pics really shows that.
The boxwood here was cut and stuffed into a dry floral foam for the winter.
Here's the home as you enter from the long, slightly curving drive with two matching trees to greet you. It's a sloping lot but notice how the landscaping on the right has been elevated to create a level area.
Here's the front entry of the home. In the pic above you can see it's flanked by two versaille planters.
Love the covered porch with the simple double columns. Deborah Silver also writes the blog Dirt Simple and has a sister studio to Detroit Garden Works, Branch Studio, which fabricates the most incredible garden ornament, fountains, containers, structures and sculpture of her design in a variety of media right in Michigan. Here's just a few examples to drool over:
