On May 10th, 5 beautiful homes in Arlington and McLean will open their doors to fans of design and gardening:  two traditional professionally designed and decorated homes, one amazing transformation of a classic ranch, a complete renovation of a house on a hill, and lastly a house that exudes ‘fun!’ with a unique and humorous collection of political memorabilia and modern art. The gardens at the homes are a bonus.

You can purchase your tickets at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Arlington, VA, then drive to the homes in whatever order you wish.  After the tour, return to the church for a tea, quilt display and plant sale.

Proceeds from this event will go to the “The Love Quilt Project,” which provides handmade quilts to children in South Africa who have been orphaned by the AIDS pandemic.  The highest HIV infection rates in the world are in South Africa, and almost 3 million children in South Africa alone have been orphaned creating a lost generation.  The Love Quilts send messages of love and support from American children through artwork the children create and which quilters from around the U.S. incorporate and stitch into log cabin-patterned quilts. The Love Quilts will be on display at this event and will be taken to South Africa this summer to be hand delivered to 100 orphans.

Tickets are $25 and include the home and garden tour, tea, and quilt display at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4250 North Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22207.

May 10th, Noon - 4 pm
